Numa Gardens is a landscape architecture studio that I founded after studying Landscape Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. My core mission is to blur the border between nature and habitation, with the goal of creating environments that "feel right." Essentially, designing spaces that incorporate the land rather than impose on it. And this is where I feel that my background as a licensed contractor helps me to understand what's possible, given the building constraints, and marrying the practical with the aspirational. This dual approach allows me to look at the final design from both lenses, removing the need for hand-offs or misinterpretations during the execution of the project.
Taking the land we've been given, and respecting it with the way we mold our living environment (indoor and outdoor) can never be taken for granted. And true flow between spaces is found in the harmony of home and place.
